Major General Luigi POSTIGLIONE was born in NAPLES on  07 September 1971.

He attended the Military Academy (171st "Fede" Course) in MODENA, the Application School of the Army, in TURIN and was appointed Engineer Officer in 1991.

• Master's degree in Strategic Science;

• Master's degree in International Strategic-Military Studies in ROME;

• Master's degree in Strategic Studies at the University of TURIN;

• Master's degree in Strategic Studies at the US Army War College in Carlisle (U.S.A.);
  

• Master's degree in Global Strategy and Security at the University of TURIN.

 MILITARY AWARDS AND DECORATIONS

• Bronze Cross to the Army Valour;

• Mauritian Medal to the Merit of Ten Lustra of Military Career;

• Silver Medal to the Merit for Long Military Service in Command (20 years);

• Golden Cross for Service Seniority (25 years);

• Commemorative Medal for operations of Public Order;

• Commemorative Cross peacekeeping operations BOSNIA, KOSOVO ed AFGHANISTAN;

• NATO Commemorative Medal BOSNIA, KOSOVO ed AFGHANISTAN;

• “Boniface VIII” International Award for a Culture of Peace.

As of  1 July  2024, he is the Commander of the Italian Military Geographic Institute.

Major General Luigi POSTIGLIONE is married to Mrs. Angela and they have a daughter, Sveva Isabella.
