Old maps: consultation procedure
From April 2nd 2019
The Italian Military Geographic Institute holds a historical cartographic heritage consisting of about 36,000 maps, namely 8,000 dating back to pre-unification period and 28,000 realized starting from 1861.
Online consultation is possible at https://www.igmi.org/carte-antiche, or alternatively at the Map Collection Section in Via Cesare Battisti 10, open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
